A neighbor called to mention that she saw a dark blue minivan going slowly down Avery Point this morning around 10:30am. When she realized it was perhaps the same minivan seen on Monday, she turned around at the Harbor Ridge/Parkridge half-sac to get a plate number. She did not see the drivers, but they must’ve seen her because they were gone by the time she got turned around. She went around the Crescent Lake loop to see if she could find them, but they were already out of sight.
She contacted the St. Joseph County Police at the non-emergency number (235-9611) to let them know that the van was in our neighborhood again. The people in the van seem to like the 10:30am timeframe and perhaps assume that fewer people are around to notice them.
If you see an older model dark blue minivan in the neighborhood, please take down the license plate and call the SJC Police. With all of us watching, hopefully we’ll avoid a burglary.
As a reminder, the SJC Police Dept. offers a Vacation Watch Service. Just call the non-emergency number and request that a vacation watch be put on your home for any dates that you will be away, and an officer will drive by your home to make sure that everything looks fine. The more police cars driving through the neighborhood, the better.
