The meeting convened July 15, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. at the home of Heinz Mantel. Marius Gavrila, Bob Hogarth, Erik Lundry, Heinz Mantel, David Riley were present. Carl Pascarella was present in place of Carole Pascarella.
The following items were discussed:
- Bob Hogarth was introduced as a new member filling the position of secretary until the next board election.
- Marius Gavrila gave a detailed Treasurer’s report. Year to date we have $33,896.50 in income, $14,377.00 in expenses for a gain of $19,519.00. We have an additional $10.33 in interest income for a total net income of $19,529.83. We have total assets of $65,744.04. We have two residents that are delinquent on annual dues. A lien will be placed on these properties (Lot 42 & 137) next week.
- Erik Lundry reported that the lights at the East and West entrance can be replaced with LED lights for $2,400.00. The new lights will be installed to reduce our annual energy cost. Erik tried to retrieve money spent to repair wiring caused by snow plows was denied by the insurance company representing the county. 6 new trees will be planted this fall to replace trees removed.
- Carl Pascarella reported in place of Carole that the 4th of July Parade went very well with about 100 people attending. The possibility of replacing the community bulletin boards at each entrance was discussed. The board decided to wait until next year to make a decision if there is a better solution for a board that will withstand the weather is submitted.
- David Riley reported that very few people have signed up to get the on-line directory and that there are a few people in Devonshire that do not use the internet. It was suggested that we mail news letters to these people. We have email addresses for about 93 homes at this time.
- Kevin Cullen reported that we have one resident that wants permission to put an in ground pool in with no fence but with an automatic cover. The board voted unanimously to require a fence as per our covenants. It was also reported that for the first time ever the two empty lots in the sub-division are being mowed monthly.
- Bob Hogarth made the board aware of recent vandalism and asked that we be especially watchful during the summer months.
- Heinz Mantel asked that all of us try to get other residents to run for board positions by October 19, 2015. All members present agreed to be on the ballot for next year. Ballots will be mailed out on 9/30/2015 to be returned by 10/14/2015.
