Quarterly Meeting 7/17/23

Members: Heinz Mantel, Leah Gerbeth, Lauren Plennert, David Riley, Kevin Cullen, Bob Kord, Erik Lundry, Carole Pascarella, Ginee Ames, Maggie Veldman, Jim Sweeney

Agenda

1. Treasurer Report – Bob Kord

a) Continued discussion of ways to securely share the Treasurer Report in the future on a secure platform.  

b) January board meetings in person will continue to provide Treasurer Report

c) 3 homes sold so far in 2023

d) 125 out of 126 dues paid in full.  Thank you to all for your timely payment.

2. Maintenance / Landscaping Committee – Jim Sweeney & Erik Lundry

a) Tobin Landscape being used for mowing and landscaping this year for the first time

b) Tobin needed additional reminders on keeping the weeds under control and keeping up with edging

c) Tobin was decided upon this year due to a much lower bid than other companies.  We might reevaluate this in the future.  We currently have a 2 year contract.  

3. Social Committee – Carole Pascarella, Lauren Plennert, Maggie Veldman & Ginee Ames

a) 4th of July Parade – a lovely gathering and wonderful neighborhood fellowship

b) Firemen were very friendly and allowed kids and adults to check out the truck

c) ice cream and miniature American flags provided to participants

c) Garage sale was on June 9th and 10th 8:00 am – 2:00 pm both days 

e) Discussion of possibly having the garage sale in May in future years for eager shoppers

f) Possible fall garage sale – check the Facebook page soon for a vote on if enough neighbors would be eager to participate 

g) Continued discussion on hay ride or block party in the fall, but we are having trouble finding a business who provides hay rides.

h) Discussion of a back to school bounce house / food truck event on September 10.  If anything comes of this information will be shared with the neighborhood.  

i) Discussion of a formal Devonshire Thanksgiving Dash.  More information to follow.  

4. Communications / Publicity Committee – Lauren Plennert & Leah Gerbeth

a) Facebook group has 133 members

b) email and website has 116 members

c) Little Library is back up and running after vandalism – Thank you Kevin! 

5. Architectural Control Committee – Carole Pascarella & Kevin Cullen

a) lake lots 122 and 123 were cleaned up and looking very nice

b) lot 122 will need continuing maintenance 

c) lot 116 appears to need maintenance by the lake as well

d) reminder to keep grass clippings out of the street

6. Covenants Committee – Carole Pascarella & Kevin Cullen

a) A meeting will be set up with lot 77 and 78 about the shed to make sure it meets requirements.  

7. Open for additional comments or questions

a) The next board meeting will be on Monday, October 9 at 7:00

b) Tenbury/East Pointe intersection concerns about landscaping blocking the view of cars and pedestrians.  Discussion of a stop or yield sign.
